BEING SOMEONE ELSE by Øyvind Aamli

The trial of 13-year-old Imogen preparing for the biggest event of the year, the Comic Con cosplay convention. After choosing the cartoon character he wants to be, he meticulously begins creating his costume. We observe how this journey triggers dramatic events and slowly reveals his wounds. As her character comes to life by sewing the costume, experimenting with makeup, contact lenses and wigs, Imogen explains how becoming a fictional character helps her overcome being friendless and being an autistic outsider.

CI SALVARONO GLI ALBERI by Elisabetta Dini

War and resistance through the eyes of those who lived it in the villages of the Municipality of Fivizzano besieged by the conflict. Born in collaboration with the 5th elementary class of Monzone, a village of three hundred people in the Alps and the Apuan Alps, the film tells the experience of the Second World War and the roundups that took place in this area. The people they tell are the “survivors” of the bad events that took place between ’44 and ’45 in Lunigiana, an area killed and devastated by the Nazis.
